Andre Smith’s journey through the world of basketball is nothing short of extraordinary. Hailing from Miami Palmetto Senior High, he left an indelible mark, scoring over 1,100 points during his high school career. Smith then took his talents to UNC-Asheville, where he emerged as the 6th all-time leading scorer and 2nd all-time in steals. His stellar performance also led UNC-Asheville to their first-ever NCAA Division I Tournament appearance in 2003. Smith’s remarkable achievements earned him a place in the UNC-Asheville Hall of Fame in 2013.
Smith didn’t stop there. He embarked on a professional playing career that spanned nearly a decade, playing in professional leagues across the globe, including Lithuania, Mexico, Argentina, and Iran. He even had the honor of captaining the Jamaican National Team from 2006 to 2011.

Andre Smith’s transition from a seasoned player to a dedicated coach was a natural progression fueled by his unwavering love for the game. He founded ASAP Basketball, a training service aimed at nurturing basketball talents of all ages. His coaching career began to flourish as he shared his knowledge and expertise with aspiring players.
Over the years, Smith became a sought-after coach in South Florida, with his most recent position being the Head Coach of Palmer Trinity School’s Varsity Basketball program. His coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and a strong work ethic, qualities that he believes are crucial for success both on and off the court.
