ABF Learning Academy, a distinguished K-12 private institution founded in 2007, is thrilled to announce the launch of the ABF Sports Management and Leadership Academy for the upcoming 2021-2022 academic year. This innovative program is designed to provide students with a holistic and purpose-driven educational experience, enabling them to excel both academically and athletically. Targeted at students from grades 6 to 12, the program will culminate in a comprehensive college preparatory high school diploma while ensuring that students meet the academic standards required by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
In addition to the rigorous academic curriculum, the ABF Sports Management and Leadership Academy will offer a range of elective courses, including sports management, business development, digital marketing, and entrepreneurial project-based learning. This groundbreaking initiative will emphasize an academic approach that seamlessly integrates college readiness with sports-related components and a project-based learning methodology. ABF Academy is dedicated to nurturing the essential career attributes and interpersonal skills needed to complement the National Common Core educational standards.
Manny Riera, Chief Academic Officer, commented, “When surveying the landscape of athletic and educational programs, it became apparent that there was a significant void in specialized opportunities for students who aspire to excel in both academics and sports. While similar programs have existed for gymnastics, sailing, and tennis, they have often been inaccessible due to high tuition costs. We aim to change that.”
ABF Academy is already committed to providing state-funded scholarship programs and financial aid to families in need, and these initiatives will be extended to students interested in participating in the new program.
